BookTalk at BSC 2009 — You Are Invited!

Memory in Ink

The World Captured in Memoir

How is it possible to bring order out of memory?

I should like to begin at the beginning, patiently, like a weaver at his loom.

I should like to say, ‘This is the place to start; there can be no other.’

— Beryl Markham

BookTalk at BSC will mark its tenth year in 2009 with a series focused on the genre of memoir — a kind of autobiographical writing that captures highlights or meaningful moments in a person’s life.  The 2009 selections are wonderful examples of memoir.  Each is by a person whose life is lifted out of the ordinary because he or she dares to go to extraordinary places, to do extraordinary things, and to share the adventure with us through writing.
