DPLA Receives Early Praise


DPLA (The Digital Public Library of America) launched in April.  So far, the buzz has been mostly positive.  DPLA is “a public portal that offers browsing and search access to a growing aggregation of metadata records from dozens of U.S. cultural heritage institutions.”

What?!  In a nutshell, DPLA “offers a single point of access to millions of items — photographs, manuscripts, books, sounds, moving images, and more — from libraries, archives, and museums around the United States.”
