Librarian of Congress

hayden-carlaWe have a new Librarian of Congress! On July 16, the Senate approved the nomination of Dr. Carla Hayden to serve as the 14th Librarian of Congress. She is a past president of ALA (American Library Association), the first female, and the first African American to lead the Library of Congress. Dr. Hayden is also the first professional librarian to be confirmed in more than 60 years. Cool.
