Man Booker Prize 2019

We have a winner! Actually, we have two winners. It’s not a first in Booker Prize history, but it was unexpected since the rules were changed in 1992 to disallow joint awards.

The Booker Prize is “the leading literary award in the English speaking world … Awarded annually to the best novel of the year written in English and published in the UK or Ireland.”

Looking for 49 good books to read?

49 books (24 fiction, 25 nonfiction) are on the longlist for the 2020 Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction.

Six finalists will be announced on November 4, and two medal winners will be announced at the American Library Association Midwinter Meeting & Exhibits in Philadelphia on Sunday, January 26. Carnegie Medal winners will each receive $5,000.
